Job Title: Computer/IT Support Teacher (TOSA) 
Job Type: Full-time, 11-month contract

Location: On campus (Not eligible for remote work)

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Computer & Technology Teacher provides instruction in foundational computer skills, including software applications, hardware basics, and digital literacy, while also supporting the school’s day-to-day technology needs. This role blends classroom teaching with hands-on IT support, helping ensure students and staff can effectively use technology.

DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES:

Key Responsibilities:
Instruction: (Up to 3 Classes)
  • Teach introductory computer concepts, including hardware, software, and digital tools
  • Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback
  • Maintain a structured, positive classroom environment

IT Helpdesk Support:
  • Serve as the first point of contact for technology issues
  • Troubleshoot devices (Chromebooks, computers, printers, projectors)
  • Manage and respond to helpdesk requests in a timely manner
  • Support staff and students with technology tools and platforms
  • Coordinate with external IT vendors as needed

Technology & Inventory:
  • Maintain accurate inventory of all devices and equipment
  • Manage device distribution, collection, and tracking
  • Coordinate repairs, replacements, and warranties
  • Assist with classroom technology setup and maintenance

Other Duties:
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Administration to support the overall mission of the school.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Education, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Teaching certification preferred
  • Experience with Google Workspace and basic troubleshooting
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced school environment

BACKGROUND CHECKS:
  • The incumbent in this position will be required to pass a criminal history background check
  • Must be able to obtain and hold a valid IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card at all times

PHYSICAL/ WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the school day
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate computers and handle small equipment
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move technology equipment (up to 25–40 lbs, such as laptops, carts, or printers)
  • Ability to bend, reach, and crouch to set up or troubleshoot equipment
  • Visual ability to read screens and distinguish details at close and moderate distances
  • Ability to communicate clearly and hear/respond to conversations in a busy school environment

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
  • Eleven-month contract with pay and benefits per Board policy.
